Emergency Care

The clinic does NOT contain an Emergency Room or an Urgent Care Center; however, clinic personnel may respond to medical emergencies on base. The clinic relies on local Japanese facilities or the Naval Hospital for all higher levels of emergency care and will transport patients to an appropriate facility immediately when necessary.

Call your local emergency services number or go immediately to an ER.
Enrolled in a TRICARE Prime plan?
Contact your primary care manager within 24 hours or the next business day after you receive emergency care.

Patient Services

• Primary Care Manager for all active duty service members and dependents. Open Monday-Friday, by appointment only.
• Available for walk-in acute cases, 24 hours, 7 days a week.
• Provides hearing tests and evaluations, hearing aides, and many other services to all members of the community, including children.
• Available for flight physicals, eye exams, and other exams.
• Provides specialty services to children from birth to age 21. Developmental screenings available upon request.
• Offers a variety of classes and counseling on health-related topics.
• Provides eye exams, corrective lens and other optometric services; it is staffed by a full-time optometrist.
• Prescription refills available by phone (DSN 243-4689) or the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal.
• Provides an extensive range of physical therapy treatment. Appointment by referral only; please contact your PCM.
• Available for a wide variety of functions on a appointment basis.

Health Promotions

We offer individual, group or family counseling on the following topics:

• Healthy weight loss
• Healthy weight gain
• Cholesterol optimization
• High blood pressure reduction
• Diabetes care and prevention
• Nutrition in pregnancy

Closures

All clinics are closed on federal holidays, and training holidays announced by the command. 

Health Promotion & Wellness

The mission of the Health and Wellness Program is to promote health and fitness through awareness, programs and services offered to military personnel, family members, civilians and other eligible beneficiaries in the community. 

Regularly offered classes, services, training, and presentations can be arranged virtually through the core facility, U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka's Regional Health Promotion & Wellness Department, or through your local HP coordinator.

We offer individual or group counseling and services on Tobacco Cessation, Weight Management, Nutrition Coaching, and the ShipShape Program. The HPW Program offers various Health & Wellness Activities throughout the year. Nicotine replacement therapy is also available through your primary care provider.

Additional services and classes may be accessed virtually or in person at our Regional Wellness Center and Health Promotion Clinic in Yokosuka.

To facilitate a smooth transition into the command, we have provided this website which includes information about our sponsorship program. We have a robust sponsorship program in place to ensure that each incoming member has a single point of contact to help you in your transition. Your sponsor will contact you shortly to provide you with information concerning transferring, living conditions, and answer any questions you may have. Please stay in contact with your sponsor and keep them appraised on your travel arrangements and transition. If you have just received orders to Naval Family Branch Clinic Iwakuni, a welcome aboard package will be sent to you.

Military Personnel

Upon arrival, you will be met by your sponsor, and report to the Quarterdeck to have the Chief of the Day (COD) endorse your orders. Then proceed to Human Resources Department (HRD) to start your check-in process. If you report to the COD after normal working hours, then report to HRD the next working day at 7:45 a.m.. HRD is located on the 4th floor.
